Get Your Glow On With IV Nutrient Therapy
Your Skin Protects You Every Day – Here’s How to Return the Favor With IV Nutrient Therapy
Soft and smooth as it may be, our skin is armor – the protective layer we are born with to keep the good in and the bad out. From harmful bacteria to environmental toxins and UV rays, our skin goes to battle for us every day to keep us healthy and strong. And without the proper nutrients and care, its battle scars will start to show.
There are many things that affect our skin; stress, lack of sleep, hormones, and diet to name a few. But a sneaky culprit? Nutrient deficiencies. Nutrients like amino acids, biotin, glutathione, vitamin C and proper hydration provide the building blocks for glowing, firm and vital skin and a deficiency of one or more of these can leave your skin screaming for help.
Even with the best of diets, deficiencies abound due to the nutrient loss during digestion and liver processing which occurs even with the highest quality oral supplements. That’s why intravenous nutrient therapy is one of the most effective ways to replenish the body of deficiencies in vitamins and minerals. IVs provide almost 100% bioavailability by bypassing the digestive system and delivering nutrients directly to the bloodstream.

Build & renew with amino acids
Amino acids, including branch chain amino acids like leucine, can be administered in robust amounts in an IV far exceeding any protein shake. Amino acids are great for accelerating the healing time of skin pre and post surgically and after aesthetic procedures.
Proline is an essential building block of collagen and can promote repair of damaged skin. It is an osmo-protectant so it can stabilize proteins and cell membranes of skin cells when salt levels or temperatures are unfavorable in the body. Glycine is also essential in collagen synthesis as well as in liver detoxification pathways which is needed to alleviate the burden of toxins from the skin as a key organ of elimination.
Strengthen with Biotin
Also known as Vitamin B7, biotin is a well-known remedy for hair loss. Studies suggest that biotin deficiency leads to complications with the skin, primarily seen as scaly and red (erythematous) dermatitis. Biotin is necessary for activating acetyl Co-A carboxylase, an enzyme that assembles the building blocks for fat production which is critical for the hydration and protection of skin.
Biotin supplementation has also been effective for improving brittle nails and nail splitting. Excess alcohol inhibits biotin absorption and biotin may also improve neuropathy and insulin resistance complications from diabetes – a disease that accelerates aging and impairs skin health.
Glow with Vitamin C
Vitamin C is the ultimate antioxidant for skin as it not only prevents weakening of collagen and ensures the integrity of the skin but strengthens your immune system from the inside thereby preventing infections. Vitamin C accelerates wound healing time, stimulates new collagen production and reduces capillary permeability and bruising by strengthening the lining of blood vessels and improving blood flow. Vitamin C also plays an important role in enhancing blood flow by promoting nitric oxide production. Nitric oxide is a critical vasodilator within blood vessels which thereby helps your skin glow and be full of oxygen and nutrients.
Intravenous Vitamin C is capable of generating levels far above what is physiologically possible orally. To reach the same oral doses given in an IV one would have to take up to half a bottle of 500mg Vitamin C capsules – this will almost certainly induce diarrhea so don’t try this!
Detoxify with Glutathione
Unlike our canine companions, our bodies do not make Vitamin C. Instead, Glutathione acts as your body’s “internal Vitamin C” and endogenous antioxidant that helps detoxify your liver and remove all cellular metabolic waste.
Your body burden of toxins like heavy metals, environmental carcinogens, chemicals, aerosols, and mold can dramatically impact your liver function as well as other organs of elimination like your skin. An increase in oxidative stress due to lifestyle, diet, mood and poor sleep can lead to accelerated aging and increased signs of wrinkles, acne and non-elastic skin.
With respect to anti-aging, glutathione is one of your body’s key regulators of oxidative stress and has been shown to be lower in the red blood cells of the elderly versus younger control subjects. Glutathione is poorly absorbed orally and IV administration is optimal. Selenium is an essential cofactor for glutathione peroxidase and is also included in many of our Detox and Hangover IV formulas.
