Dr. Brett Jacques is a licensed naturopathic doctor with over 20 years experience helping his patients achieve optimal wellness through natural medicine and bio-identical hormones. He has been involved in alternative approaches to healthcare his whole life. His great grandmother was a medicine woman so there was always an herbal tradition on his paternal side. His undergraduate degree is in exercise physiology from Springfield College in Springfield, MA where he also competed in wrestling. He managed health and racket clubs around New England. He enlisted and served in the US Army with distinction and was given the opportunity to go to medical school instead he chose the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, OR that specialized in training students in the use natural medicine such as herbs, dietary supplements, nutrition, physical medicine, the use of prescription medications, bio-identical hormones, minor surgery and delivering babies.
Dr. Jacques is a well-respected leader and practitioner in his field and is particularly recognized for his expertise in hormone replacement therapy, gastroenterology and botanical medicine. He is frequently a featured speaker at both conventional and alternative medical conferences on these topics. In addition to public speaking, he has authored chapters for medical, laboratory and botanical textbooks and has contributed to numerous naturopathic and health journals. Dr. Jacques has worked in the dietary supplement industry for many years as a product developer, speaker and technical writer. Additionally, he has worked in the laboratory medicine industry with a lab that specialized in hormones, immunology and vitamin testing. His hobbies include coaching his two sons in rugby, teaching martial arts and trying to bridge the gap between beginner and intermediate acoustic guitar playing.
